Thanks. We had him for bout 5 years, but he was already getting up there in age when we got him. But he was always super sweet, loved people and cuddling. I know he wasn't feeling too well near the end, but for a little bit he seemed to be doing better and I thought he might at least make it to the end of the year. At least I could be there with him when he went, so that helps

I know it doesn't lessen the grief, but I think it's wonderful that you gave an older boy like him a good home and what sounds like a lot of care and love for the last years of his life. I think he must have been very lucky to have found you, and I'm so sorry you lost him.

I have a tendency to take in strays , or in his case, to give a good home to cats that aren't really wanted by the folks who had him. The people I got him from weren't cat people, but they'd gotten him from a woman who had passed away and had promised to look after him until someone else would take him.

I'm not ready for another cat but I think the next one I get will be a black cat, since they tend to be adopted less and I absolutely love them :3
